Double Six Racing Scholarship Round 1

Eligibility
Open to everyone 17 years of age and over, except MSA 'A' car race licence holders or above. Entrants with a National 'B' car race licence must not have competed in more than 6 races.

It costs £299 to participate in Round One of the 2008 Double Six Racing Scholarship. You will spend ½ a day at the circuit.

The Teesside Autodrome is the location for the first round of the Clio Cup Scholarship. A fantastic place to start learning about circuit racing.

Goal
The main goal for this round is your ability to listen to advice and act on it.

Details
There are two sessions a day. The morning session starts at 9:00am with the afternoon session starting at 1pm.

You must be registered at the signing on desk at least 15 minutes before your start time.

You will be split into groups of four and allocated a professional race instructor. Each competitor will be given four sessions in the car.

The sessions are not timed but your instructors will take notes on your driving ability. Just as important though, is your willingness to listen and learn from your instructor. Remember they are there to help you improve your driving and to try and get you through to the second round. Revs and gear usage will be limited so that the instructor can get an idea of how smooth a driver you are.

Results
You will be notified within three weeks of Round One ending as to whether you have been successful in reaching Round Two. Results will be based on the grade your instructor gave you and the notes they made on your ability to listen and improve your performance during the round.

Should you be successful you will be invited back for Round 2.
